Hiking the Juan de Fuca Trail with Two Kids in Tow (Video)
Hiking the Juan de Fuca trail with our two kids was mostly type two fun. Meaning that hiking the trail didn’t really feel fun, or at least some sections of it. In fact at times it felt more like a survival trip, but in retrospect it was a lot of fun. It was a tough journey for us and the kids – especially for our five year old who hiked it all by himself, but we all came out of it stronger and proud of what we achieved.
We all tend to appreciate or want certain things when we don’t have them any more, or can’t have them for a while. I recently wrote a short piece about our adventures along the Juan de Fuca Trail and realized that even though it was tough and challenging then, I do miss this adventure now. Even more so since we are restricted to stay close to home due to COVID.

Hi Maya and Gili, Another amazing blog post from you. You four are so incredible! I just loved it. I’m working on a book about cycling on Vancouver Island and hope you have some photos that I could possibly use in the book??????
Maya
Hi Colleen, Thanks so much! Wow, a cycling book for Vancouver Island sounds incredible! Is it for Vancouver Island only, or also the Gulf Islands? We have done some biking on Vancouver Island but definitely would like to do more. I’ve listed below some posts that have some sections on Vancouver Island. If there are any photos there that you like please let us know by email and we can send you high resolution versions. Most blog posts have a gallery at the end, although for the really old ones the gallery feature isn’t currently working. If it includes also the Gulf Islands we have many more blog posts, but maybe the Gulf Islands deserve a separate guide book 😉
